Bernafon

Bernafon is a Swiss company who have been manufacturing hearing aids for over 60 years. Bernafon prides itself on the highest standards of Swiss Engineering, ever since Hans Gfeller Junior in 1946 developed Switzerland’s first hearing instrument for his father Hans Gfeller, founder and then head of Bernafon.

They belong to the William Demant group, along with Oticon and Sonic Innovations.

The story of Bernafon started in Switzerland when young Hans Gfeller Jr., a student in engineering, got a hold of his father’s new hearing aid. Instead of admiring what was then the best in audiological technology, he took it up to his room, grabbed a screwdriver and proceeded to take it apart, piece by piece.

While history doesn’t tell what Mr. Gfeller Sr.’s reaction was when he found out what happened, we know it didn’t take long for him to start developing and selling his own sound amplification devices.

They launched the first digitally programmable hearing aids in 1988 which changed the face of hearing aid programming from using screwdrivers and trimpots to actually programming devices using a computer. In 2002, Bernafon became world leaders again by introducing the first Channel Free™ hearing system, a unique approach to signal processing.

The Alpha is the latest hearing aid from Bernafon and uses “Hybrid Technology”.

This is similar to a hybrid car, it is combining the best two technologies from Bernafon to give a clear sound no matter where you are.

A very exciting feature of the Alpha aids is the Music Experience setting they have, which is perfect for music lovers and brings through every note and sound in music with unparalleled clarity.

Like most hearing aids today, Alpha can connect wirelessly to iPhone and modern Android phones to allow streaming of phone calls and music directly from a mobile or iPad. They also provide other accessories such as a Tv streamer and remote control.

The Bernafon Alpha can be adjusted with an app called Easy Control –A and can also work with Telcare for remote adjustments using the EasyControl Connect app.

They offer hearing aids in a wide variety of colours and can be powered through a zinc air battery or rechargeable options.

The in-the-ear Zerena hearing aid range can provide really clear sound n large to small custom made aids that will sit securely in your ear canal and not fall out with glasses and masks.

Hearing Sense of Norwood

All I can say is that after changing from another hearing firm who I was not getting the satisfaction or service from, I made the RIGHT choice.

Service and friendly faces by staff at front desk. Kelly’s smile and being able to show me and explain all about my hearing problems. Quickly getting me my much better and smaller aids all adds up to a great choice. I’ve told may people about them and recommend any one young or older to go see them if they need help with hearing.
