I suffered hearing Loss as a result of my Army service in Vietnam and it continued to decline in the years after my return. I guess like many I didn’t want to accept that I needed hearing aids, nor did I want to advertise the point by being seen wearing them. I thought I was too young to be wearing them and too proud to admit it. In hind sight that was pretty silly on both points.
In 2018 I finally accepted that I needed hearing a little more help hearing conversations around me more clearly, particularly in noisy environments. I visited my local Hearing Sense outlet at Unley where I received excellent advice and service from Pavel and his friendly team and purchased my first pair of hearing aids in March 2018, and have had a couple of replacements pairs since that time as upgraded models became available. The improvements over the last 6 years have been amazing.
When purchasing my latest pair there were a number of different types and brands to choose from and rather than rushing me into a quick decision Pavel gave me the opportunity to try a number of different models, from different suppliers, sometimes for weeks at a time so I could get a good feel for the model I had on trial. No pressure, just good service to make sure I was happy with the final choice and comfortable that I had made the right choice as different manufacturers had slightly different features on offer.
Typical of the good service I have received from Hearing Sense over the years Pavel was checking the Web Site of one of his suppliers and found out that they had only just released an updated version of their hearing aids. He rang me to let me know he thought they would suit me and that he could get them in within a few days which he did.
Following a quick trial, I bought the brand-new update and have been very happy with them ever since.
I no longer have to crank up the volume on the TV as the new hearing aids allow me to have TV audio sent straight to my hearing aids, via a special transmitter connected to the TV, with the ability to control the audio volume and settings via my mobile phone.
The Hearing Aids also pick up Spotify so I can listen to me favourite music anytime, directly through the Hearing Aids, which is great when I am out walking my dog every day.
Pavel has made my new hearing aid so much better and more enjoyable in general. I am grateful for his patience and understanding and his desire to do what is best for me. His reception staff are always very friendly and professional and happy to help with any advice or any fine adjustments to the hearing aids on a walk in anytime basis. It is always a pleasure to go there.
